Regional Sales Risk & Safety Manager

We currently have an opportunity for an EH&S/Fleet Safety professional based at City of Industry, CA or San Ramon, CA.

This key leadership role provides risk and safety support to distribution and sales centers, encompassing multiple warehouses, route sales and a highly distributed workforce. It is a hands-on position, reporting directly to the Division Safety & Logistics Manager. There is a functional reporting relationship to the Director of Risk, Environment, Health & Safety. The successful candidate must be able to travel within their assigned region (up to 25%).

Primary responsibilities include:

* Lead the assigned Region in a definitive improvement effort to achieve world class safety & fleet performance. * Adopt a ‘zero tolerance for injuries and incidents’ position and drive this mentality throughout the Region. Manage the safety triangle to drive ZERO injuries/incidents. * Facilitate the transition to strong employee-led risk and safety systems. Provide leadership and resource support to Safety Committee(s), where applicable. * Partner with site safety coordinators and safety system leaders to ensure that all R&S modules are fully developed and implemented.

* Ensure assigned Region meets all DOT, OSHA, EPA and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements. * Conduct regular walk-through of all work areas to identify hazards, evaluate controls, recommend improvements and communicate with team members. Promote safety ‘visibility’. * Determine safety best practices and train individuals/teams. Accomplish all regulatory training and related activities. * Lead formal incident investigations to identify root causes. Drive corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.

* Manage modified work programs to ensure timely rehabilitation of disabled employees. Serve as the liaison with medical providers/clinic. * Administrate workers’ compensation and partner with the insurance carrier to promote quality care and cost effective outcomes. * Actively participate as a key member of the National Sales R&S Network. Lead the Regional R&S Network.
